Michael Ruggier joined the fire service in 2012 as a volunteer in New Jersey and served there until heading south to join Bladensburg in Prince George’s County Maryland where he currently serves as the Assistant Fire Chief of Training. Ruggier was hired by the Fairfax County Fire department in 2019 where he has served as a firefighter, basic training instructor and is currently a Technician on a Rescue Company on the Route 1 corridor of the county. Ruggier has also served as an instructor at the Virginia Beach Fire conference H.O.T. Classes.
