Mike McCarthy has worked in public safety for the last 22 years and has been a fire service member for the last 15 years. He is currently the Captain of Tower 3 for the Boston Fire Department in Boston, MA. He is an instructor for several HOT Programs delivered by the ISFSI (International Society of Fire Service Instructors), including Understanding and Fighting Basement Fires, Live Fire Instructor Credential: Fixed Facility, and Implementing NFPA 1700. Mike has been a HOT instructor with UL-Fire Safety Research Institute for the Fire Dynamics Bootcamp. He has been an instructor with the Massachusetts Fire Academy since 2018. Mike is the thermal imaging program manager for Training to Perform Under Pressure,
