Course Description:
This program combines classroom instruction and hands-on training to develop a systematic approach to engine company operations. Participants will examine an engine system that includes line selection, stretch estimates, line placement, and advancement considerations before exploring the principles of water mapping and its impact on fire dynamics and occupant survival. Practical training will progress from dry stretches to charged-line deployments, allowing firefighters to apply water-mapping techniques through window operations. Students will then practice the quick mask drill and discuss methods for sharing time by completing critical tasks simultaneously.
