About the event
Purpose:
This one-day program, blending classroom instruction with hands-on drills, provides firefighters with the essential knowledge and practical skills for effective engine company operations. Participants will gain a deep understanding of pump hydraulics, master various pumping techniques, and perfect the deployment and advancement of hoselines in realistic scenarios. The course also covers critical aspects of hoseline selection and placement, nozzle operations, and backup hoseline positioning, ensuring proficiency for both pump operators and nozzle teams under pressure.
Class Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply pump hydraulics and engine company system math to various fireground scenarios.
Accurately calculate pumping and flow rates for fire apparatus.
