About the event
The Cowpens Fire Department is hosting our Gary Sinise Foundation Heavy Vehicle Rescue School in Cowpens, SC. This program is open enrollment and presented free of charge as part of the Training to Perform Under Pressure and Gary Sinise Foundations Firefighter Training Program, along with lodging.
**Max Enrollment of 2 Students per Department**
**Only students traveling over 80 miles are eligible for FREE Lodging**
𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:
Incidents involving heavy vehicles require responders to consider factors such as excessive weight, unique vehicle construction, cargo characteristics, and the forces that affect stability and movement. This program aims to create a systematic approach to heavy vehicle rescue, grounded in principles of physics, the forces acting, load assessment, and systematic plan development and operations.
The 30-hour Heavy Vehicle Rescue School equips participants with the skills to assess loads, formulate clear rescue plans, and effectively use a variety of tools during incidents involving heavy vehicles.…
