The Parkersburg Fire Department is hosting our Thermal Imager Operator Program. This program is open enrollment and is presented free of charge as part of the Training to Perform Under Pressure and Gary Sinise Foundations Training & Equipment Program.
Thermal Imaging Cameras (TICs) have come long since the early ’90s. Technology in imaging, shutter speed, and battery life has increased the reliability of these tools. Do we understand how they work? This 10-hour program is designed for firefighters, company officers, and chief officers to learn about the theory, technology, and limitations of TICs and apply this acquired knowledge to practical fire ground skills, culminating in a live-fire foreground scenario, which will incorporate multiple tactical applications of the TIC.
