MacQuilliam is a seasoned technical rescue specialist with more than 15 years of fire service experience, 12 of which have been dedicated to technical heavy rescue. Serving in the positions of technician, driver, and now lieutenant on a busy rescue in a large metropolitan department, MacQuilliam has truly honed his craft. He serves as a rescue specialist and heavy rigger as a member of VA TF-1/USA-1 and is heavily involved in multiple aspects of the technical rescue program within his department. He frequently plans and executes large-scale drills and continually seeks ways to further his education. He especially enjoys teaching vehicle extrication. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and two children.
